Kevin and Seyla were wonderful to work with! They have amazing families who prepared a stunning two day wedding that was a feast for the senses. Thank you for letting us be a part of this very special wedding. Thank you for the wonderful food and experience! Over these two days there was an extraordinary duo capturing the beauty of the event, Keith and Paula Hartman of Keith Hartman Photography. They worked over 14 hours each day to capture the stunning images you see in the gallery. I cannot thank these two wonderful people enough for their hard work and dedication on this event. I highly recommend them for any event you would like to capture on film, they are true professionals and great human beings. Keith and Paula, thank you. I look forward to working with you on our next event. The beautiful linens and backdrops were provided by Lanny's team at The Linen Shoppe, who we love! Mariah's team at Simply Flowers provided all of the amazing centerpieces, thanks guys. Thank you It's My Party for the great tableware and dance floor, always a pleasure. We used the great Smarty Had A Party for the dessert tableware. They specialize in fabulous party needs, I highly recommend them for any party needs. Last but certainly not least, thank you to my wonderful team who helped me pull the day together. I could not manage without you!

In the middle of all of the rainy weather I have finally had time to sit down and share the details of the most fun wedding with this beautiful couple. Vanessa Lynn Photography did an amazing job capturing this wonderful day. Thank you Vanessa for sharing all of these lovely images with us. This was a huge set up and I was overwhelmed at all of the hard work and organization that Shannon was able to accomplish before she brought me on. They were mindful of every piece of the day to make sure that every guest had a wonderful time. There were games, lounging areas and a beautiful setting for guests to just enjoy the day. Holland Park West is a beautiful setting on it's own but the staff did a wonderful job of helping out. Oh What Joy supplied all of these beautiful vintage pieces you see, we loved those details. And talk about a beautiful couple, just look at these two! The only care of the groom on his wedding day was, "Is Shannon happy?" Thank you Shannon and Ryan for making me a part of this beautiful day! These two wonderful people were so very thoughtful of each other. In every decision they made, in every thoughtful aspect of the day, in just the way they were with each other. It tickled me to see two people started down the path of marriage with the right stuff. We loved being out at Wolf Lakes again with their wonderful staff at at St. John's Cathedral. You couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting and a more loving family to work with. These amazing photographs were captured by John Reynolds Photography. He and his staff are incredibly talented and are so fun to work with. Chris Geiger was on site to capture video of this beautiful day. The Linen Shoppe once again provided the wonderful linens and decor, they are wonderful! We would like to thank Rosie's Flower Shop for the amazing flowers, Absolute Comfort Limo and the always wonderful ITC Entertainment for setting the mood and giving everyone a fun evening to dance to. Thank you Alberto and Blanca for trusting us to create the beautiful day you imagined. It was truly a pleasure to get to know you and spend time with your families. This was a special day and a special location. There has not been a wedding held at Millerton Lake Courthouse since I have had the memory to remember it. I have been a frequent visitor since I was a small child and always loved this site. I'd like to give a special thank you to the U.S. Park Rangers who allowed us to use this as our venue and who took excellent care of us while we were there. Thank you to this lovely couple Kevin and Elvira for allowing me to help create this wonderful day. You allowed me the pleasure of creating it in a location I dreamed of. You have wonderful families who truly made it a special day. The day was captured by the wonderful Emma Lynn Photography, who we love working with. And last but certainly not least, the wonderful vintage pieces from Firefly Vintage Rentals made the setting! Congratulations to all of you newly engaged, let the planning begin! I know the excitement you must feel and I want to give you a few tips to keep that momentum going. Making some good choices in the beginning will build a good foundation for sanity and success as you go. You should expect snags along the way and even on the big day, there is no such thing as a seamless event. If you decide to have a coordinator and a good one, those snags will be invisible to you. If you decide to venture in on your own the first tip I would like to give is that you build a team of people to help you. A team that meets often and not immediate family. They will need to be people who have a talent for organizing, decorating, some party management experience and a lot of patience.
This leads me to my next piece of advice, at least hire a coordinator on an hourly basis to advise you along the way. You will find out quickly that there are many more details than you thought of that you will need help with. They will be able to help you understand the flow of the day, common missteps and any other questions you might have. To help decide how many hours you can afford to do that or to determine anything you can afford, set a realistic budget. This will save your sanity as well as keep the peace. Think about the guest count, the setting and the finances you are working with. The largest stress causer is money, tackle it ahead of time. Think about what the cost will be per person before finalizing that guest list with the fact that most people will not be offended as much as you think about missing an invite. On that front my advice is to ask yourself if you would take them out to dinner. When I am working with a couple it is very important to me that I help them start their married lives out on financially sound ground. Budget first, Pinterest after ladies! There will be a long list of vendor choices and that can be hard to navigate at times. A few tips from me that some vendors are not going to appreciate but it is my honest opinion from over a decade of experience. Getting a good price is great but beware of deals that seem to good to be true. You can do that by asking for references, knowing the actual expected cost of services and try not to let a vendor combine too many services. If you hire a vendor who gives you an unusually low quote who doesn't have a history of successful events, it could spell trouble. If you hire a vendor who coordinates on the side, I don't advise it. For the simple fact that all of us are professionals who need to be focused on the task at hand. There are exceptions but you need to know them. One example is that a lighting company or video company might also have a wonderful D.J. service. This is because they have the technical experience and a larger staff. Coordinating, catering, floral and linens are areas that I feel need to be exclusive to their job. When I am coordinating an event, it takes my full attention from sunrise sometimes to the next sunrise. Use good judgement when choosing, always have a signed contract and plan to check in with them. Just these few decisions will help you get started and build confidence. I love helping couples plan their visions and watching them begin their lives together. If you are not passionate about this business, you won't last. I truly enjoy the relationships I build. I'd say I have saved couples a minimum of 20% on the cost of their weddings. I am elated with having them come in below budget and amazed at what they were able to create with that budget. My favorite part of the whole process is about the time the open dance starts and I see them relaxed and enjoying their guests and evening. They are the picture of happiness and they know I did everything I could to give them a wonderful start. It's a thing of pure joy. If all of this planning sounds wonderful but daunting, call us. We would love to sit down for a free consultation and show you just how affordable an event coordinator can be. I wish all of you joy in the journey not just getting to the big day but in life. Truly, congratulations! Cheers! Laura Congratulations Trevor and Sydney!Trevor is like one of my own kids and has been a part of our family for a lot of years. This year he met a wonderful girl Sydney who I think is perfect for him. We cannot wait to get to know her better and see what wonderful future lies ahead for these two. Congratulations to both of you!
A Family Affair As I walked into a new fall bible study looking and feeling exhausted, my eyes met another woman on the go with that same look. It was this sweet bride Colleen. As we talked over the evening about everything we had on our plates we decided I would help with the last few weeks of planning for she and Sukhpal. I enjoyed being around them from the second I met them and when the big day came, I had a wonderful time with their families and friends as well. And talk about a family that can get down, they did. I would highly recommend taking anyone in this family up on any offers to hit the dance floor. There was so much love at this wedding. The selection of vendors a couple decides to choose sets the tone for the whole day and theirs did not disappoint. Let's start with these beautiful photographs by Derek Lapsley. They were so much fun to work with and they just seemed to catch every detail. The beautiful draping we had created by Maty's Linens and Decor which softened the evening for a perfect effect. And that great dance music? That was courtesy of TNT Entertainment who did an amazing job as always. The venue location and staff was as always, top notch at Wolf Lakes. Alissa and Ryan are the absolute best at caring for every detail of the event the entire time you are on the property. I really do love working with those two. My wonderful friend Sandy Brown officiated and our sweet Chip Henderson sang. Honestly, all of these vendors are wonderful. This was a wonderful day filled with so much love. Thank you Colleen and Sukey for bringing me along to be a part of it. Congratulations Mr & Mrs. Hayer! Let Us Create A Custom Proposal For You This Season! This has been a very busy wedding season with little time to share our adventures as we go. I had to take a moment and pause today to share just how much I enjoyed getting to know this couple and their families. Brian and Colleen spent months building and creating pieces to this wedding with nothing but their guests in mind. It was clear that they were both very loving and caring people. I had an amazing time helping them bring the details to life. What a beautiful day! Keith Hartman Photography did an amazing job of capturing every detail of the day. Honestly, they were wonderful to work with. The always wonderful Linen Shoppe provided the linens, Mark of ITC rocked the party all night and the location at beautiful Pines Resort was stunning. It was a lovely Saturday afternoon, in a lovely residence, with wonderful clients. We had a lovely lady celebrating retirement from a dedicated life as a teacher. We had wonderful vendors helping us to create a beautiful day for her. I'd like to first thank the McCrearie family for trusting me with a special day. I would like to thank my wonderful vendors, Melissa Pointer Photography, Firefly Vintage Rentals, The Linen Shoppe, Light Up The Walls, Frosted Cakery, Simply Flowers and Chuck's BBQ. We had a great time with the details of this "Gone With The Wind" themed celebration! All photos were provided by the talented eye at Melissa Pointer Photography
